History of Union

Shakchar is a traditional union. The union was one of the largest unions in Laxmipur Sadar upazila. In 2006, Union T was divided into 3 parts. The union is now known as the 16th Shakchar Union.

The union is located in the south-south corner of Laxmipur district and upazila town. It was established as a newly formed union in the Union Parishad elections in 2011. The union has no building of its own. At the local Jabbar Master Hat (J, M, Hat) the activities of the council are conducted as a temporary office in a rented house. Charruhita Union No. 4 on the west, Laxmipur Municipality and Tumchar Union No. 21 on the east, Charramani Mohan Union No. 20 on the south, Laxmipur Municipality and Charruhita Union No. 4 on the north.
